On tonight's show: Eleni Drake, KIN, Annabel Allum and Anna Wolf
Eleni Drake @elenidrake
London based singer/songwriter & producer - Eleni Drakes’ music is decorated with a wonderful mixture of blues and indie rock with influences ranging from Bon Iver, Mazzy Star to Kings Of Leon. Creating unique sounding ballads; her brooding and melancholic songs are self produced from her bedroom and are a clear view into her inner thoughts.
Her highly anticipated debut album ""Can't Stop The Dawn"" is set to leave it's mark on the iconic London music scene, through her magnetic story telling and bittersweet melodies.
KIN @kinbandofficial
KIN are Grace, Ritu and Adam; a female-led, London-based trio who write atmospheric indie pop. They blend electronic keys and catchy guitar riffs to produce a sound that is unique, dynamic, and constantly evolving.
Their debut single, Sharing Light, was released in May 2020 with their follow-up, L.O.V.E, premiered on Refinery29. They have gained support from Get In Her Ears, Lefuturewave and LOUD Women and are currently writing their debut EP. KIN was featured as one of Eventim UK’s weekly picks, who said they were “expecting big things in the future” from the band.
Annabel Allum @annabelallum
Whether side-stepping rogue rabbit holes in the fields of Guildford’s Pewley Down, exercising her natural curiosity with a stroll along the canal banks of the River Wey or zipping through Austin, Texas on a scooter, ready to wreak havoc on SXSW with her bandmates beside her; the world of Annabel Allum is a Wonderland of magnificent contradictions.
At her most visceral, Annabel is a troubadour for the millennial age, with vitriolic explosions of ferociously grungy guitar and gut-wrenching honesty, deftly attuned to observations of what lies beyond her Lennon-framed lenses. When contemplative, Annabel is an astute poet; praised as much for her words, as for her imagination and sensitivity - a DIY artist in the truest sense.
Long marked out as one to watch, the swell of praise for Annabel Allum from all corners is resounding. Long-time championed by BBC Radio 1, she’s made the daytime playlist, had a live session at the iconic Maida Vale studios as well as performing on their SXSW stage, a festival which she’s now taken by storm twice. Other notable shows include a dream-come-true emotional performance at Reading festival, as well as The Great Escape; tours with Nadine Shah, Sleeper and Beth Ditto have been the perfect way to cut her teeth in the presence of esteemed artists.
Anna Wolf @realannawolf
Anna Wolf creates alternative music with lyrics that are layered with a poignancy that she uses to hypnotise audiences on a journey of self-discovery that leave you with the feeling of being heard.
