On Tonight's show: Latenight Honeymoon, Family Jools and Rhys E
Latenight Honeymoon @latenighthoneymoon
As musicians who had been attempting to make ends meet, lockdown was served as a double-edged sword. The very cause of what at times had felt like an insurmountable battle, also forced them into making use of the tools they had at their disposal. Amongst these tools, a plethora of songs coerced throughout these formative years. This made for an opportunity to take Lockdown with both hands to follow up their debut releases. Culminating in the form of Double EP Codependency • B.S.T [Pt i] & Codependency • D.S.T [Pt ii] self recorded and produced by the band internally.
Family Jools @familyjoolsband
Fresh from startling performances at Liverpool Sound City & The Great Escape in 2019 FAMILY JOOLS have now been confirmed for SXSW 2021. Support for the band has come from all directions including Fresh On The Net, Radio X and BBC Radio 6 with Steve Lamacq saying: "I don't really hear a lot of records like that at the minute"". Definitely something of the 70's about it. Which sets it apart from a lot of things happening now."
The Bristol band have already been compared to the greats. The Band, Gram Parsons,
The Beatles and the sound of classic Northern Soul and Big Star have all been mentioned as critics attempt to classify their impassioned live shows. The band have an LP in their back pocket and are now waiting for the opportune moment to spring it on the world.
Rhys E @rhysemusic
Rhys E has been steadily releasing music since April 2020 and has really kicked everything off last December. After assembling an incredible band to bring the project to live and play festivals such as Kendal Calling and Signals this summer, getting airtime on Radio 6, getting a write up on NME and getting recognition from Manchester music legend Tim Burgess, Rhys E is set to take 2021 by storm.
